Mike Murphy: Safety Director Report :
No report but holes in the safety netting have been noticed without any report of such damage by the pilot. Members discussed the effectiveness to be sure it’s working.
Gary Stephens: Report Swap Shop 2023
Jeff Streit has the signage for SS and will bring. We will be setting up at 7 a.m. Vendors allowed in at 8am public at 9am. Paul our Kof C contact offered to supply coffee and doughnuts for a fee, or we could supply our own. Discussion, no refreshments again this year was decided. Auction around noon ends at 1pm. Sign up sheet for workers re-routed.
Door Prizes ?? Gary is authorized to buy door prizes
Swap shop status report, to date 32 tables registered as of today. Raffle ticket sales are going well.
Jim Grant: Poker Fly-In 2023 Recap.
Poker Fun fly was the 4th year and an all time record was achieved (12 payers, 11 flyers). 3 winners all had full houses. Winners were Chris Bohn, Bob Irish and guest Ben Riersma (from TCAF). Our first helicopter entrant flew well. It was a very good time, looking forward to next year.
Dave Hills Maintenance Director Report: Max and Bob relayed Dave was unable to attend but maintenance is going very well no issues.
Social Director? Position still open
Chris Mroch:Website Status Up and running and current.
New Business:
Chuck Putney re: Vets Fun Fly , a request for a demo fly by another group led to suggesting they be invited to our Vets Fly In since we would not be able to provide them a demo at their venue.
Dan McLaren – we need to put up a slate of officers for next month’s election of officers. Dan volunteered to stay Treasurer, Chris offered to remain WebMaster, Jim G offered to remain 2nd VP, Chuck offered to remain FaceBook Admin. Mike offered to be Safety Director, Gary want to defer VP discussion till after the Swap Results.
Seeking trainers with a preference for being available to train on our traditional Tuesday evening training nights. Chuck Putney and Max Machala offered their services as trainers.
Danny Osborne mentioned our training fleet is somewhat dated/depleted. Tom DeVries offered a Telemaster 40 that we could add to our training fleet.
SHOW N TELL : Chuck presented the new version of the Blade Inductrix (tiny whoop) from Horizon. Also the new 1 cell voltage checker from Horizon.
Allen Simpson relayed a safety event at West Michigan, a refueling incident resulted in a fire today. No injuries.
Next Meeting is Nov.7,2023 West Michigan Aviation Academy.
