Minutes of the September 7, 2021 Meeting
Call to order at 7:00pm by President Gary Stephens

Review of the Minutes of the August 3, 2021 meeting resulted in no changes.

Old Business
Mike Murphy – Mike suggested that members review Drone Safety on the AM
web site
Jim Herron – Swap Shop 2021 update – all is going well. 12-15 tables sold as of
now. This does not count the 5 tables Park Fliers and the usual 5-7 tabled for Dave Walter. The raffle plane is hanging at Riders. Jim needs volunteers to help set up and run the Swap Meet.
Dave Hills – status of the field – gravel was moved on Friday the 3rd. Jeff Streit
brought his tractor with scoop and made the job much easier. A big thank
you to the volunteers who helped.
Chris Mroch – Website status – Chris purchased and donated a Website Security Certificate. He has added a cow pop up to emphasize staying away from the barns. Chris will modify the cow pop up to stand out less.
Lee Fredrickson – Combat at KRAM 8/25 – 12+ pilots. Hot and muggy.
Lee Fredrickson – Better communication as to flying attendance – Discussed a plan to generate an E mail listing of those members who would like to be regularly informed as to other members planning to fly and when. We would look to Dan McLaren to lead this effort. Possible text message solution?
Open discussion – Solutions for safely finding planes lost in the corn – several potential suggestions were discussed including a drone, electric noise maker, a Key Finder from Hobby King, Amazon beeper, Walkie Talkies and long PVC pole. We need more investigation and discussion.
The Corn – Open our area a little more – Dan McLaren to discuss planting beans or alfalfa around our landing area as in the past. Lee Fredrickson will talk with our farmer about cutting the corn around our flying area early for silage.
