Minutes of the June 1, 2021, 2021 Meeting
Call to order at 7:00pm by President Gary Stephens
There were 18 Members present including new members Max Machala and Mike Nolan
No Guests present…
Review of the Minutes of the MAY 4, 2021 meeting resulted in no additions or changes.

The Financial Report presented by Dan McLaren. No issues raised.

Old Business
Mike Murphy – Safety Message – the first aid kit is in the pin box behind the pin rack. In case assistance must be called, the address of the field is 8001 Wingeier Ave.. Alto, Mi. (our GPS COORDINATES ARE N42 49’ 12” W85 20’ 59” BUT I AM TOLD EMERGENCY DOES NOT RESPOND TO COORDINATES, THEY WANT THE ADDRESS.) Mike’s best advice is to be careful so you do not have to use the first aid kit or make that call for help!
Mike also noted the FAA is moving forward with the testing requirement we have all heard about. It appears it will be a “can’t fail” test – if you get an answer wrong it will just cycle back to the question until you get it correct. Also, there will be no charge for the testing so if you go to a web site that wants to charge you, you are not in the FAA web site!
Jim Herron – Swap Shop 2021 update – all systems go! Raffle tickets were handed out to all present – 12 tickets for $10
K of C is open as of 6/15/21 so we should be good to go.
Dave Hills – reports status of the field is in good shape.
- We sill discuss the status of the remaining pea gravel at the next meeting…
Steve O’Connor – is ready to supply food when we have an event…
New Business
Gary Stephens – planning discussion for KRAM Memorial Fly In – Gary will be the Event Manager and be in charge of the event. The Longest Day Fly In Event Manager will be Lee Frederickson.

Show and Tell – Jim Grant showed off a new “Old School Model Works” Kaos that came in a complete kit with everything but the tires. All laser cut wood. It took two months to build but it is now flying well. He used Gorilla Glue for plastic/glass to attach the canopy and claims it works well!
