MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President Gary Stephens
Members present were 12.
There were no Guests present.
Review of the Minutes of the AUGUST 4, 2020 meeting produced no additions, deletion, or changes.

Old Business
Mike Murphy – Safety Message – as learned from the recent hurricanes, fumes from generators can be deadly! Run generators outside, not in closed garages or inside buildings.
Jim Grant – 2020 Swap Shop raffle plane SALES UPDATE – $254 in sales so far with 22 of the adult members having returned their $ and stubs. This is a good year to buy tickets – a very good chance to win!
Dave Hills – RUNWAY Maintenance and repair is a go for September 12 starting at 9:00 am. Dan made a motion to buy 10 yards of pea gravel with Jim Grant seconding the motion which carried. (10 yards was only $50 more than 5 yards…)
Please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, and steel rakes and channel lock plyers on Saturday morning. Club is supplying lunch…

George Orphan – promotional video is complete. Copies have been made available to the school and the club. We are working on getting it either posted to the web site or generating a link to view it. Many thank to George Orphan and son John Orphan for the efforts to generate this video.
Gary Stephens – calf problem and solutions for the present – the KRAM Board proposes we move the flight stations from their existing positions to farther west with the first station in line with eastern edge of the shelter. This would move the flight box for all flyers some 15+ yards to the west away from the barns. It would also put all pilots closer together for better communication.
The second proposal was to add signage reminding all not to fly over or near the barns.
Lee Frederickson made the motion and Jim Grant seconded. Motion carried. Jim Heron volunteered to make the signs. (It is hoped that these actions, along with the promise that big, noisy IMAC planes will not be flown at the field in the future will let the calves stay in their pens.)

New Business
Dan McLaren reported the K of C accepted our cancellation of this year’s swap shop with no charge. They rolled our deposit to October 24, 2021.
Dan McLaren noted that Dave Walter is still on for their outdoor tailgate swap shop on Sunday, September 20 from 10:00am until 2:00pm with live auction at 1:00. Register by September 15. For info/register call Dave at 616-204-798.
Dan McLaren reported that George Pavey has confirmed that we can use a classroom for meetings throughout the winter. Minor sanitizing to take place as we leave…
