Minutes of the MARCH 5, 2019 Meeting
Call to order at 7:00 by President Phil Shea

There were no additions or deletions to the Minutes of the FEBRUARY 12, 2019 meeting.

Old Business
Mike Murphy – Reviewed the AMA SAFETY CODE AND CLUB RULES for 2019 as required by AMA. If you were not present please take the time to review both documents and comply.
Jim Grant – Swap Shop 2019 is moving along. Table forms are available for all who need one.
Jim Herron – Maintenance Comments. If the pee gravel held up over the freezing and thawing of winter, Jim has been authorized to spend up to $200 on additional gravel to preserve the runway. (motion by Osborn and seconded by Frederickson carried.
Dan McLaren reminded all that Dues are due! $75 again this year. Renewal form attached to meeting reminder email. Still quite a few members who have not renewed…
Dan McLaren was reminded to get the web site changed to reflect flying time for all types of motors and engines is 9:00am to 9:00pm.
New Business
George Orphan – promotional video follow up on hold.
Lee Frederickson noted that the FAA has mandated that the FAA identification must be visible from outside the plane. Lee made a motion that the club make this part of our rules. Steve O’Connor seconded the motion. Discussion pointed out the AMA does not require clubs to police this and there is no penalty established by the club if someone fails to comply. Motion carried 7 to 5.
Phil Shea established April 27, 8:00am as maintenance field day. Plan to be there to help get the field ready for flying season.
Phil Shea established a “Runway Committee” to investigate and make recommendations about what to do with the trenches in the runway. Committee is made up of Lee Frederickson, Jim Herron, Dan McLaren, Dave Pierce, and Matt Slobe. First report out will be at the April Meeting.
