Dan reported the lease for the airfield had been executed and we are good for another year of flying.
No New Members to report this month. So far there have been 26 total renewals to date.
Old Business
Mike Murphy – Safety review – be sure your batteries are discharged to storage voltage for the winter (3.8 volts).
Jim Herron – possible club field trip (Air Force Museum / Toledo). Jim reported there are a 12 passenger and a 15 passenger van available. Price varied based on where the van was rented – cheaper from the airport vs. in town.
Still thinking of April 7 -8 to go to the Air Force museum and the Toledo show. More discussion next month.
Jim Grant reported that after the February meeting we will have a guided tour of the WMAA by George Pavey, Dean of Aviation. For those who have not been through the entire school, it is worth the time! Tour will start after the meeting – roughly 8:00pm
A club Bucket list item of glider rides was supported by member Dr. Jeff Wolfson who used to fly gliders. Said it is a very relaxing, quiet an experience. Mark Schmaltz will check with the Ionia glider club for specifics on price and availability. Might also be an opportunity for a raffle item…
Mark Schmaltz, after a discussion about field mowing and equipment, Mark is going to look into prices of new sit down zero turn mowers and also trade in or value of what we currently have. Concerns still surround who and when…
Danny Osborn – Reported it was a beautiful New Year’s Day fly in… Weather was great with no skis needed. Fourteen flyers were present and enjoyed flying with no crashes.
New Business
Dan – Club Dues are due now past due. For those delinquent, a renewal form was attached to the Agenda and should be filled out and returned to me with you check for $75 ($50 for associate members).
