Safety review consisted of review of two battery fires. The first was at a pattern event out in Omaha. A 10C 6000 Hobby King battery that was purchased in 2014 caught fire an hour after it was recharged. Wife moved burning tool box to the driveway and cooled the pack with water. In the future he plans on some kind of “safe storage”.
The second incident was eight batteries in a carrying case. Batteries were 5s packs. Pack lit off and completely destroyed the batteries but the case contained the fire and only allowed smoke to escape from the carrying case. Case was a “First Alert” container that sells for $38.50 at Lowes.
Swap Meet
Danny Osborn reported the swap meet was a success. All tables were sold and attendance was pretty good. Total profit from the event was $1995. Many thanks to all that helped with the event.

KRAM Fly-In January 1, 2017
Indoor Flying opportunities are many – check the West Michigan Park Flyers web site for details.
Show and Tell – Jim Grant showed a Great Planes Kit Giles 202. He liked the kit but the wing was a hard build. It has an OS 94 4 stroke for power. Not yet flown but sure was pretty.
