Dues for 2016 are $75. If you are one of the 9 delinquent members from last year, please send your check and Membership renewal form (available on the KRAM web site) to Treasurer Dan McLaren at 1058 San Lucia SE, East Grand Rapids, Mi. 49506. Warm weather is just around the corner!
Old Business
Mike Murphy – conducted our annual SAFETY REVIEW. It is important to note that the AMA rules and the Club Rules have remained unchanged since January 1, 2014. The AMA rules are posted on the shelter wall and the club rules are posted on the east door of the pin box. Take a minute to review them. It was agreed that rules are important and common sense application of them provides for a safe, enjoyable flying experience at the field.
New Business
Lee opened the floor to work day projects to get the field in shape for summer.
After much discussion about what, how, how much, etc. Jim Grant made a motion to unstaple the center staples of the southern two runway rolls and turn them back, one to the south and one to the north. Jim Heist agreed to supply his tractor to move dirt from the pile over by the lake to fill the washed out areas. Tim Power will get a tamper for the day to pack the new dirt in place. Lee will check with the farmer to see if we can use his little front loader and driver for a few hours to get the job done.
The date chosen for the work day is May 21 at 8am. Bring water, rake and shovel (and plane also – we should have time to fly in the afternoon!).
Motion was seconded by George Orphan
Motion Carried
Tim Power volunteered to coordinate the flag pole replacement. Dan McLaren motioned Tim be authorized up to $100 to get the job done.
Danny Osborn seconded.
Motion carried.
Dave Kingma volunteered to procure a new American Flag.
Jim Heist volunteered to use his tractor to level the road as the field begins to dry out.
Lee Frederickson volunteered to get black dirt and grass seed to repair the grass around the shed.
Dave Kingma broached the idea of putting chain link fence up in place of the black plastic fence at the flight line. This idea was tabled for the time being due to cost. The plastic will be repaired for now.
It was decided not to have a TAG event this year. The last two years were a bust so we will just advertise our Training Nights on Tuesday evenings June through August.
George Orphan requested “take this home” stickers. Dan McLaren volunteered to follow up with Nik to see if we could get the file to produce them.
Dan McLaren volunteered to make contact with the Vet’s home to see if they are coming this year for lunch in September.
