OLD BUSINESS
- Dan Osborn – info on YMCA event – no report
- Lee Lubbers – follow up on Big Bird event – 8 currently registered. Set up help needed around 3:00 pm
- Mel Trotter static display for 28th Street Cruise – Bennie Lopez explained that the Mel Trotter folks are trying to get some more “family type” displays on to their property for the Cruise so it is not all just cars. Display tables will be available…
- Charles Rencurrel “marketing plan” for park flyers – post cards have been given to the Hobby Shops but so far no cards have been returned by park flier purchasers looking for help…
- Home and home CARDS Visits went well. Small attendance but good conversation…
- Memorial Fly In is right around the corner – June 12! Set up is scheduled for 7:30 with take down after 2pm. Any and all help is appreciated. Ron Champion is donating the drinks and cups for the event – thanks Ron! Remember to bring a dish to pass!!!
NEW BUSINESS
- New members voted in at the meeting: Stewart White, Ray Look (returning associate member), and Ed Whyte (returning member)

- Mark your calendar – TAG program this year is August 7 from 10 to 4!
- Complimentary Associate Memberships for our area hobby shops was discussed. Advantage would be to familiarize the hobby shop staff with our field so they might recommend new flyers to the club. Membership card would be issued in the name of the hobby shop and any employee of the hobby shop that has a valid AMA card could use it fly at our field. They could not use it to fly or train customers unless thy held an AMA Instructors card. Motion was made by Lee Lubbers and seconded by Dick Cowan to direct the Secretary / Treasurer to develop a Complimentary Membership Card for the local hobby shops. Motion carried.
- Lee Frederickson asked the membership to begin thinking about a By Law change for this fall that would eliminate the collection of next year’s AMA fee when you join the club. He feels it is an impediment to membership, especially the park flyer type potential member in that the fees to join the club probably cost more than the value of the plane they are going to fly. More discussion in the fall…
- A motion was made by Nik Zinsli to buy a set of waders for swamp use. Motion failed due to cost, size, storage, etc. Lee Frederickson said he had a pair at home he would donate to the club…
- It was noted that the lock on the Porta John door was broken. Follow up with Pitsch Companies will have the lock fixed and the unit pumped and cleaned on Thursday, June 10 before our fly in on the 12th.
