About Us

Nobody knows exactly when the club was officially formed, but popular opinion is between 1967 and 1969. The 70’s saw some memorable and key personalities join the club.  On any given Saturday morning or Tuesday evening the likes of Ed Younker, Bob Kok, Bill Whitney , Frank Pulte, Dave Kingma and Danny Osborn were sure to be at the field. The early years of the club born many unforgettable moments, there were fewer rules, lesser technology and who could forget the Pronto.

In a day and age when RC airplane clubs have been losing their fields, KRAM has been blessed with a stable home in Alto, Michigan thanks to the generosity of the Wingier family.   For the last 3 decades our field has been located on Wingier Rd. After 2 decades of crashing planes into Walt’s barns, house, trees and Silo, the club moved 1/4 mile down the road to a location that provided a bit more margin of error, yet still on Wingier property.

With an active roster of 113 members and a rebirth in remote control in general, the future is looking bright for KRAM.
